 Janice Frances Bushee of Vergennes, Vt passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family after a long illness.

She was born in New Haven, Vt January 14, 1937, daughter of Carl and Gertrude Booska.

She was employed by Simmonds Precision of Vergennes, Vt for over 30 years. Janice had a love for her family, friends and her faith in God. Her greatest joys were her Grandsons Joshua and Jacob Bushee and Great granddaughter Harper as well as there families. 

Janice was a devote member of St. Peters Catholic church, American Legion Post 14, Addison County Eagles, Ladies of St. Anne and Vergennes booster club.

She enjoyed wildlife, birds, flowers, the outdoors, art, museums, country fairs and town festivals. She had many hobbies camping, hiking, sewing, cooking, baking, archery, hunting, fishing and rescuing animals as well as foraging for mushrooms and ginseng.  She was raised on a farm in Orwell, Vt and continued her interests in farming, agriculture and forestry. 

Janice is survived by her son Matthew Bushee of Vergennes. Grandson Joshua Bushee and Fiance Lindsey and her son Milo McDermott of Wilmington, NC. Grandson Jacob Bushee and wife Stephanie and their daughter Harper of Ferrisburgh, Vt.

She is also survived by many loving and special family and friends.

Janice is predeceased by her son Carl Bushee. Her life partner Louis Margiotti of Rutland and former husband Howard Bushee of Manchester. She is also predeceased by her Brothers Emery Booska of New Hampshire, Edward Booska of Orwell, Vt and Martin Booska of Maryland.

 A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Vergennes. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753. My condolences to Janice’s family. I know how dearly she was loved and cared for. She will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy to Matt and all of her family.

Jan was a wonderful neighbor. When my kids were young they would go over to Jan’s house to get a treat. She always had homemade cookies that she would always make available. She was a sweetheart of a lady and will be truly missed. Condolences to Matt and his family.
