Jeremy Robert Haight

Panton

On Sunday, September 8, 2019, Jeremy Robert Haight, 37, passed away suddenly due to complications from diabetes.  He was born September 21, 1981 in Middlebury, VT.

He is survived by his two sons, Dylan Howard and Avery Michael and their mother, Kira Haight of Milton VT.  His Grandmother, Jacqueline Haight of Charlotte, VT.  His Mother, Janet Andrews of Vergennes, VT.  His siblings, Adam (Joe) Yantz (Kay) of Liberty, SC, Robin Javinsky (Jim) of Fredericksburg, VA, Emily Vickers (Phillip) of Hinesburg, VT, and Elizabeth Poquette of Vergennes, VT.  His parents-in-law, Michael and Mary Carpenter of Milton, VT.  A brother-in-law, Anthony Carpenter (Becca) of Rochester, NY.  4 nephews, 5 nieces, and 1 great niece.  Many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.  Additionally, we would like to mention his “brothers”, Benjamin Andrews, Jacob Plankey, Ty Zimmerman, Gabe Bushey, Wayne Jones, Nate Torrey, and all his USMC brothers.

He is predeceased by his grandfather, Howard Haight.  His father, Robert Haight.  His grandparents, Richard Sr. and Vonda Andrews and his young cousin, Brian Andrews.

Jeremy graduated from VUHS in 1999 and entered the USMC from 2000-2004.  He was currently working for Goose Creek Construction.  His passion, second to his boys, was fishing.  He won the Jr. Fishing Derby Championship at the age of 5 and again at 16.  He loved fishing at the Vergennes Falls and would grab his tackle box and fishpole as soon as he got home on leave.  He was an amazing pool player and loved playing in his grandparent’s basement with his cousins, Justin and Adam Haight.  He also enjoyed playing golf with his friends.  He is a member American Legion Post #14.  Jeremy had a huge heart and apparently could smoke anybody off the dance floor.  He will be greatly missed by everyone but especially by his boys who he spent most of his free time with.

Visiting hour will be held on Thursday, September 12th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday September 13th at Vergennes Congregational Church, 30 South Water Street.
