Russell George Sumner,96, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.
He was born April 24, 1927 in Bristol the son of Dewey and Ruth Hallock Sumner.
He enjoyed gardening, cutting wood and working on his property.
Russell is survived by his wife Pauline Sumner of Bristol; his son Russell Glenn Sumner of Bristol, and a daughter Sharon Sumner of New York; three great grandchildren Ashley, Jessica and Marissa; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by a granddaughter Michelle Bleakley and two brothers and three sisters.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, VT Affiliate, PO Box 1070, Williston, VT 05495.
