Theresa R. Steady, 75, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022, at her home in Rutland, with her four daughters and best friend by her side.
She was born on August 13, 1947, in Richford, VT the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Rushford) Juaire.
Theresa was a caregiver her entire life, having a community care home for the elderly, caring and being guardian for her sister Polly, who she loved dearly. Theresa was also a foster parent and surrogate mother to many.
Her hobbies were Football, keeping track of her grandkids and letting people know what she thought whether they liked it or not.
Four daughters survive Theresa: Stacey Steady (John Sherwin), Robin Frazier (Jeffery), Paulette Holbritter (Jim) and Sue Ellen Lancour (Jamie) and her best friend Cathy Cunningham. Theresa is also survived by her grandchildren, Brittanny (Cam and Kiley), Colby (Ayden and Madison), Hannah, Emily (Cayde and Hazel), Jessica, Brendan, Bryce, Randi and Caleb.
Predeceased by her parents, father of her children, Randy Steady and beloved sister Polly.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 10th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Vermont Special Olympics, 1133 19th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036-3604. theresa was a tell it like it was person just like her mother . hope you all are doing fine i know whats its like to miss a loved one .sorry i wont be up there but are thinking about you guys please take care love mary and john bessette.
