William Samuel Svrcek, 88 of Bristol, died on February 11, 2019 at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury. Born on January 12, 1931 in Flushing, New York, he was the son of the late Samuel and Bertha Svrcek of Bristol. He was raised and lived on Long Island New York until he relocated to Bristol with his wife Pat and three children in 1968.

Bill worked as an engineer with the New York and New England Telephone Companies for over 30 years. He was a member of the Old Pharts Club for many years and known for his sarcastic sense of humor that camouflaged his soft heart.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia and parents. He is survived by three children, Pamela Svrcek of Bennington, VT; Steven Svrcek , husband of Jill Rathbun, of Lakeville, MN; and Ellen Svrcek of Lancaster, PA; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one sister, Evelyn Rice of Ellicott City, MD.

Visitation will be held at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol on Saturday, February 23rd from 10 a.m. to Noon with a luncheon following at Bristol Federated Church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Greenwood Cemetery Association, PO Box 132, Bristol, VT 05443.
