                Bertha M.Perron, 95, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Ringer’s Home Care in Vergennes.

                She was born on February 3, 1923 in Williston, VT the daughter of Wilbur and Mary (Tardie) Boutin.

                She was a devoted and active member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes and a member of Saint Anne’s Society, Ferrisburgh Grange, Seniors, enjoying playing cards with anyone who would join her. She looked forward to visiting with family, friends and neighbors and making a great meal for anyone who happened to stop by; traveled to Rome, Italy and did many bus trips around the country after she moved from the family farm in Monkton to Vergennes. She loved to crochet and quilt – her handiwork adorns many a households today. Her garden yields made its way into many meals and happy conversations. Her homemade bread was a popular staple on the farm 

                   Bertha and Arsene raised their family on the Monkton farm of 44 years. Many happy memories were made with everyone who came to the farm over the years. The grandchildren have many happy memories with “Mémère” and  â€œPépère” as the years went by.

                Predeceased by her husband Arsene Perron May 26, 1989.

                Bertha is survived by four children, Emile Perron of TN, Clement Perron of NH, Bernard Perron of NH, and Irene Latreille of Monkton; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

                Predeceased by her two sisters, Dorothy Campagna and Mary Jane Charron; and four brothers, Adrian Boutin, Edward Boutin, Phillip Boutin and Victor Boutin. Bertha was the last surviving sibling.

                Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 22nd at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes from 6 to 8 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23rd at St. Peter’s Church in Vergennes with a reception following at parish hall. A graveside service will be held 1:30p.m. on Tuesday at Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund, 85 South Maple St., Vergennes, VT.
