            Betty Ferris , 84, passed away at her home in Bristol of 57 years, on Sunday, November 12,2017 surrounded by her family.

            She was born on Liberty Street in Bristol on May 2, 1933 to Stanley A. Trudeau and Daisy B. Lathrop. 

             She was predeceased by her 2 brothers Ray  and Stanley Jr. Trudeau and 2 sisters, Marion Liberty and Elsie Young. Two nieces Nancy Young and Elaine McDonald.

            She was a 25 + year member of Libanus Chapter No. 47 O.E.S. in Bristol and Lady Shrine, Airoc Court No 42,L.O.A.S. as well as a 50+ year member of the Bristol Federated Church.

She began her career with Conneticut General Life Insurance Co. where she worked for 10 years.  She then worked for Simmonds Precision Products, Inc as a secretary and retired from there 29 years later as a Contracts Administrator, negotiating contracts with airlines all over the world.  She was also a MAUHS Treasurer, Lawrence Memorial Library trustee, Village of Bristol Tax Collector as well as provided home care.

            Her most important job was supporting and being there for her family. Whether it was as the loving wife, warrior mother, loving and supportive grandmother, aunt/great aunt or just that special woman who loved everyone and took such great care of us all. Her legacy is the love and support she has given to her family, friends, community, and the world. 

            She leaves her loving dedicated husband Joseph of 57 years, her only daughter -Amanda, her two special reasons for living , her grandsons ,Austin and Adrian, her newly adopted grandson ,Ryan, her Niece Linda and nephew Marc, several great nieces and nephews and their families,  many close “adopted” children, as well as a loving community full of many people touched by her special magic.

            Visiting hours will be held on Friday November 17th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Easter Star Service.  A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 18th at Bristol Federated Church with a reception following at Libanus Masonic Lodge #47 in Bristol.
