David Jon Bodette

David Jon Bodette, 56, Shallotte, NC passed away peacefully at home, Friday September 30, 2016 surrounded by family and love.
David was born on May 5, 1960 in Middlebury, VT. He was the son of Raymond “Bud” Bodette, Jr. and Alice (Tucker) Bodette.
He graduated from Vergennes Union High School in 1978, and enjoyed working on the family farm alongside his father and brothers. He then began a long career as a Plant Manager with Blue Seal Feeds before relocating to North Carolina in 2012 where he was in the Insurance business.
David always made you smile. He treated others with kindness and compassion, had a strong work ethic, and was ready to lend a helping hand or simply be there if you needed a friend. His fondest memories were of family picnics on Lake Champlain, and liked fishing, an occasional golf game, vacationing in Maine, living on the coast of North Carolina, and his Cubs and Packers teams. He cherished the many friendships he made in life, and loved all of his family members more than anything in this world, and that bond gave him steadfast strength and faith.
David is survived by his wife of 3 years, Charlene Bodette, Mother Alice Bodette, 4 Brothers; Raymond and Susan Bodette, Joseph and Cindy Bodette, Tom Bodette, Greg Bodette and Kim Farrar, Stepdaughter Ashley Howard (Justin), 2 Grandchildren, Stepson Kyle Guyette, several nieces and nephews, and loving in-laws.
He was predeceased by his Father Raymond this September and a brother Dan Bodette in 1981.
A Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 15th at St. Bernadette Church in Bridport. Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery, West Addison. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, PO Box 459, South Hero, VT 05486.
