David L. Serafin Sr.,77, died at his home in Shoreham on Sunday October 9, 2016 surrounded by his family and closest friends.
Dave was born on October 9, 1939 in Bridgeport, CT the first son of Leon and Margaret Serafin. He attended parochial schools, graduating from Fairfield University and earning his Masters Degree from the University of Hartford. Dave taught mathematics in both West Hartford and Bristol, CT, retiring after 30 years of teaching at Mount Abraham Union High School in Bristol, VT.
On a blind date in 1958 Dave met his love, Linda Corban, and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Linda and their four children; Deb and Mike Orvis of Bristol, VT and their children, Tony, Doug, Ben, Rachael and great grandson Michael; David Jr. and Julie Serafin of Livingston, MT and their children Max, Nicholas and Charlie; Alan and Niki Serafin of Billings, MT and their children Tori and Josh; Gail Serafin and Bill Barrett of Brandon, VT and son Joshua; brother Robert and Viktoria Serafin of Glen, NY; two brothers-in-law Paul Corban and Bruce and Kimiyo Corban of Canada; his dear Lathrop family, David, Sheila, Sarah, and Matthew; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and his favorite pups Pepper and Racer.
Join us in celebration of David’s life on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol at 10:00 a.m. In honor and memory of Dave, please bring flowers to someone special, as he so often did for Linda.
