Gerard Benoit passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at his home in Bridport surrounded by his family.
He was born August 3, 1924 in Crysler, Ontario, Canada, the son of Felix and Hermaline (Charlebois) Benoit.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Middlebury. His hobbies were going to the races, horseshoes and bowling.
He is joining his wife, Evelyn L. Benoit, who predeceased him on March 29, 2015. He was also predeceased by his parents and 14 brothers and sisters and their spouses.
Gerard is survived by his six children, Dennis Benoit and wife Donna Woods, Christine Wells and husband Paul, Luann Benoit, David Benoit, Brian Benoit and wife Naomi, Lisa Foster and husband David; grandchildren, Erik and wife Jennifer, Jessica and husband Tom, Justin, Caryn and husband Rob, Sarah and husband Jud, Joshua, Alyshia and husband Matt, Tabitha and husband Chris, Britani and husband Jonathan, Josiah, Alexa and husband Mitch, Kylie; and great grandchildren, James, Evelynn and Rowan; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 8th at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Middlebury. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
