Howard Edward Grimes Age: 92 of Lincoln, Vermont went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. He was surrounded by family and friends, laughing and telling personal memories with each one.
Howard was born in Bristol, Vermont on July 11, 1924 to Ray and Flora Grimes. He was the oldest of 4 boys. He loved gardening, farming, the outdoors and being with family and friends. He enjoyed anything he could do with the people he loved….barbeques, church events, hiking, canoeing, vacationing.
Howard was active in his church. He loved feeding and watching the birds, working in his strawberries and blueberries, maple sugaring, and raising sheep and chickens.
If Howard met you, he would pull you into his family and love you like you were one of his own.
Howard was predeceased by his mother and father, and two brothers, Ralph and Duane Grimes.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia. His three daughters, Joni Masterson and her husband Ron, Suzanne Grant and her husband Greg, Stacy Sack and her husband Clay. His grandchildren, Jeremiah and Ashley Grant, Aaron and Joanna Grant, Seth Grant, Matthew Gosselin and Whitney Williams, Paul Gosselin, Sarah Sack, Steven Sack and Taylor Sack, and three great granddaughters. His brother Donald, Sr. and sister-in-law Thelma Grimes, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Vilas and Walterine Masterson and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, April 21st between 6-8 pm at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol, Vermont. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22nd at 1:00 pm at the United Church of Lincoln in Lincoln, Vermont. Reception to follow at the Burnham Hall in Lincoln.
