Joyce passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.
Joyce was born in Essex Center, VT to the parents of Arnold and Margaret (Ritchie) Denton on September 17, 1927.
She married Edgar A Guillemette on September 2, 1946 in Shelburne, Vermont.
“G.G.” will be dearly missed by her surviving family; Suzanne (Richard) Higbee, Ed Jr (Pat) Guillemette; Sherri (John) Koehler, Jean Paul (Kathy) Guillemette, Rosanne (Brian) Bishop. Also surviving her are her siblings Loretta Lewis, Rae Shackett, Carol (Ron) Tuck, Nancy (Robert) Pearl; daughter-in-law Cathy Guillemette, sister-in-law Sandy Denton and brother-in-law Ed Cote.
“G.G.” is also survived by her ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband Edgar, son Phillip, her parents, six sisters and three brothers.
Our mom was a very giving lady who loved to knit and crochet. She made blankets, mittens, scarves and gave them to local schools, nursing homes, “The Mitten Tree” and Making Strides Fund Raisers.
We want to thank Dr. Karen Fromhold, the nursing staff and everyone who was involved with our mom while she was at the Helen Porter Nursing Home. The family also wants to thank them for all their support.
