Margaret passed to the Lord on Monday, June 19, 2017 at her home in Bristol.
She was born in Hinesburg on September 2, 1926 and attended the Hinesburg School.
She married Winfred Owen on August 11, 1945. He predeceased her after 46 years of marriage on September 6, 1991.
She is survived by their son, Alton Owen of Virginia Beach, VA and his wife, Merry, two grandsons, Bill and Thomas and wife, Emily of Virginia. They had two great grandchildren of Oklahoma, Emily and Seth Owen.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bristol, Bristol Legion Auxiliary #19 and Eagles Auxiliary 3801 of Vergennes.
She’s survived by a special niece, Marge Dusablen of Colchester and many friends especially Mary and Joe Alexander, Wilma and Clarence Hallock and Sandi and Lee Comly. Many thanks to all who made her last days so pleasant.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 23rd at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 24th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Burial will be at Monkton Ridge Cemetery, with a gathering following at the Bristol Baptist Church in the church basement.
