Robert Allen Brown, 82, passed away on Sunday April 9, 2017 at Helen Porter Nursing Home from congestive heart failure. He was born in Weybridge on February 8, 1935, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Tatro) Brown. He attended school in Bristol. He worked as a mechanic in various garages, including Rule Brothers, Bechwith Motors and Middlebury Motors, best known there for his automatic transmission work. He worked as a truck mechanic for Lathrop’s Band Mill until his semi-retirement in 1997. He continued to work part time for the Lathrop’s until December of 2016.
Bobby is survived by his wife Barbara, their daughter, Rebecca Johnston and grandson, Andrew Brown. He is also survived by his children Allen and Delores Brown, Randy Brown, Donna Brown, Shirley Brown and Wendy Brown. Grandchildren, April, Jessie, Stacey, Emily and Samantha and 6 great grandchildren. He is survived by nine siblings, Francis, Bernard, Teresa, Barbara, Rosie, Jimmy, Johnny, Linda and Danny. And many nieces and nephews.
Bobby enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and fixing most anything in his garage.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at the American Legion Post 19 in Bristol, VT on Saturday April 15th at 11:00 AM.
