Robert W. Jenkins, Ferrisburgh

       Robert W. Jenkins, 74, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his home in Ferrisburgh surrounded by his loving family.  Born September 6, 1943 the son of George and Wilma (Bushey) Jenkins, Robert married Mary Jane Snow on January 29, 1965.

       Raised in the Vergennes area, he received early education in the Vegennes Schools. Robert worked and retired from Farrington Construction. 

       He was an active member of the Ferrisburgh Fire Department, a former member of the Vergennes Fire Department, The Addison County Firefighters Association and the Vermont State Firefighters Association. He enjoyed being a part of the Ferrisburgh community and was involved in many aspects of this town including serving on the Select board and working on countless community projects.

       Robert was an avid hunter, golfer and high school sports fan. Spending time with his family and friends brought him immeasurable joy. Robert was an amazing and proud grandfather to his 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He loved attending sporting and music events, watching his multi-talented grandchildren. He was their biggest fan and celebrated them with a hug and smile that they will always remember.

       Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years Mary Jane Jenkins; four children Robin Curler and husband Kenneth of North Ferrisburgh, Christopher and wife Trista of Monkton; Timothy and Gail Yandow of Bristol, Mark Yandow of Salisbury; seven grandchildren Katherine Watson, Hannah Whitaker, Owen Jenkins, Grace Jenkins, Jackie Deyo, David Yandow and Skylar Yandow; three great grandchildren Avery, Wyatt and Oliver; two sisters Betty Smith and Joyce Commo; several M:nieces and nephews.

       Robert is predeceased by his parents, a son Richard Yandow Jr.; two sisters Margretta Bushey and Joan Cothern.

        A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 16th at Ferrisburgh Town Highway Department on Little Chicago Road, Ferrisburgh, VT 05456. Interment will be at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery.
