Wayne M. Stearns Sr., 75, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at his home in West Ferrisburgh.
He was born May 29, 1941 in Charlotte the son of Lawrence and Madeline (LaJoie) Stearns.
He was a lifelong and truly dedicated farmer on the family farm in West Ferrisburgh. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with the family and he was proud of his children and grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his children, Tammy and husband Gary Grant, Wayne M. Stearns Jr., Eugene and wife Annie Stearns, and Phillip Stearns; five grandchildren, Gary, Geoffrey, Taylor, Ashtin and Logan; two sisters, Marie and Kathleen; two brothers Donny and Jerry; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by two brothers David and Mike, a sister Laurie.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 19th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, January 20th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. A burial will be in the spring at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.
